Germany-based contract logistics provider Fiege has secured contract from Austria’s textile retailer Palmers Textil.

Fiege will supply Palmers’ European online shop clientele from Vienna’s south. It will also serve 300 Palmers branches and sales partners multiple times a week.

Palmers has selected fashion logistics provider to manage complete logistical process flows, while it handed over the eCommerce order processing to the Fiege Group in June.

In mid-October, Fiege has migrated around one million items along with the décor warehouse and shop fittings to its logistics centre in Vienna.

Fiege has allotted two entire warehouses with pallet racks and set up a multi-storey to accommodate the items.

Palmers CTO and executive partner Luca Wieser said: “With the warehouse leaving Wiener Neudorf, an era of Palmers Textil AG at the Wiener Neudorf facility is coming to an end. By partnering with the Fiege Group, we consider Palmers’ logistics to be well prepared for what is expected from a modern commercial enterprise.”

Fiege fashion and online retail managing director Christoph Mangelmans said: “We are very proud to have such a well-known traditional company place its trust in us and to allow Fiege in Vienna to take care of its logistics.”

Through its 300 retail outlets, Palmers markets fine lingerie, swimwear, nightwear, loungewear, hosiery and fashionable styles to the customers in Austria, Germany and Croatia.

Fiege owns 2.8 million m² of warehouse and logistics space and reported €1.45bn turnover in 2016.
